Medtronic Hires New CMO of Acute Care & Monitoring Biz

Medtronic has appointed Dr. Gerald “Jeb” Denny as the chief medical officer for its Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM) business.

The company said Dr. Denny brings extensive medical and product expertise to strengthen ACM’s medical strategy and reinforce its leadership in the industry. Under his leadership, Medtronic aims to bolster its relationships with the healthcare community, customers, partners, and professional societies.

Dr. Denny joined Medtronic from BD, where he lead Medical Affairs for the company’s Urology and Critical Care, Smart Connected Care, and Vascular Access Devices businesses. Before BD, he was chief medical officer for the Medical Review Institute of America (MRIoA), a leader in utilization management.

In his new role, Dr. Denny will continue to devote a portion of his time practicing medicine at the Physicians’ Care Clinic in Decatur, Georgia. He’s board certified in both nephrology and internal medicine and previously practiced as both a nephrologist and a hospitalist.
